Question: I need your help!!! What do you think of this new menu?

Hi everyone,

What do you think of this new menu? instead of the current 2 that we have:





Under the above system the "User CP" is located under the Links menu and the "Log Off" is in the links up the top! See attached samples.

Let me know if you like or dislike the changes?

I dont like it.. there is no new posts button!!!. The new post buttons is by far the best feature on the forums. I use it every day while posting.

Where would you move it to?

Do you ever use the big menu above. The one that currently allows you to jump to the photo gallery, downloads e.t.c.

Yes but the only thing i use on there is the forums button.
It doesnt matter if you move the new posts button but please keep it somewhere it is highly useful. Or maybe i just think that because i spend so much time posting here.
The pic you have posted deffinatley has better functions then the ones you have currently.

Under the Quick Links menu (which will become the Links menu) is a similar thing called "Today's posts". Is that suitable?

oh my god thats so much better than the new post button!! Than you Josh i didnt know it was there.
Also the utopia banner was over lapping the drop down menu.

So should we go with the simpler menu or should we leave it as is with the 2 menus?

I am concerned that new people may not know where things are in the simpler menu.

Well if they cant then they are morons. plus cant you just change it again later?

I think what i'll do is leave it as 2 menus BUT i'll do the following changes to the very top 1:


1) Make it expand to fit the screen
2) Fix up the menu names so it is more readable. Win should change to Competitions and Buy Sell should change to Classifieds.
3) Reduce the font size slightly so its not so cluttered
4) Make it so it goes over the banner not under
5) Fix it on Opera
6) Make it so when you roll the mouse over a menu item it jumps out at you.

I think it looks better under the banner and number 6 sounds good also!

New posts is critical Josh- i.e I haven't been on for weeks & 142 new posts since last here.... I WENT THROUGH THEM ALL!!!!! But couldn't with today's posts!
And I hate the jumps up as your mouse rolls over idea- I remember Tempa saying "I don't know if I got fat hands or something... but I can't work those!!!" I concur!
