ARTIST INFO:
The Chemical Brothers
It’s been three long years since the Chemical Brothers
unmistakable brand of electronic insanity gripped the
nation.

The sensory overload that is the Chemical Brothers live
experience was launched at the world famous Glastonbury
Festival earlier this year. The closing set left punters and
media alike astounded at the sheer scale and epic
spectacle of the Chemical’s mind blowing audio-visual assault. Following
Glasto, the band have rocked Fuji Rock Festival in Japan, Montreax Jazz
Festival, The Summercase Festivals in Spain and have appearances scheduled at Bestival, Electric Picnic Ireland, Creamfields UK, not one but three Brixton Academy’s and a huge show in London’s Trafalgar Square, amongst many others, before arriving to Australia in March 2008.

John Digweed
John Digweed is a craftsman and an artist whose passion
for playing music emerged at the tender age of fifteen. In
the ensuing years, he has become one of the most
respected and revered figures of the international dance
scene, and it is where he stands today that really matters
to dance floors and devotees around the globe.
Whether you cite the hundreds of thousands of mix CD's
sold, or his globe trotting lifestyle, you cannot escape the fact that his low key
approach to fame, and infatuation with the finest music, have combined to
ensure a perpetual legacy of satisfied punters and promoters.
Under any circumstances the man will excel and excite the people who have
learned to appreciate a performer who cares just a little bit more. On a stage
in a field to tens of thousands of people, or to a couple of hundred decked out
in a basement club, the atmosphere midway through one of John's infamous
extended sets is always a step beyond the standard dance floor fervour.
www.johndigweed.com

Sven Vath
Sven Vath is the epitome of the German ‘global player’.
His name is inseparable from the German club scene of
the nineties. Vath's albums like ‘Accident in Paradise and
‘The Harlekin, The Robot, & The Ballet Dancer’ are
landmarks of contemporary electronic music. Sven Vath is
truly one of the driving forces behind modern electronic
music. His label, Harthouse, is responsible for unleashing
many highly creative artists, including SpiceLab, Hardfloor, and Speedy J. As a
DJ, his legendary marathon sets have received acclaim around the world. In
addition, Vath creates his own innovative music.

Roger Sanchez
Roger Sanchez, the S-Man, chart topping producer and
globally revered superstar DJ. The keystone of the
‘Release Yourself’ concept, recognized and respected the
world over for hi compilation CDs, club nights and a radio
show across Europe and the US which reaches over 1.2
million listeners a week. The proud owner of ‘Stealth
Records’, champion of hidden talent wherever he
encounters it, and one of the most level headed players on the International
dance scene. Roger Sanchez, the dynamo that has propelled the disco scene
into the 21st Century and beyond.

Eddie Halliwell
Despite only just turning 26 Eddie Halliwell is now firmly
established as one of the most exciting DJ’s in the world,
crowned Mixmag’s World Number 1 DJ for a second time
in 2006 and being Voted 17th in the 2005 World DJ Mag
Top 100 Poll. Unbelievably passionate about music he
infects the crowd with his energy, captivating them with
his highly visual performances (his interaction with the
crowd has got to be seen to be believed!) and jaw dropping turntable
trickery…he really is a ‘true’ DJ.
While the true “Eddie experience” can only be gained in a club, he has also
mixed one disc of ‘Gatecrasher Residents Transmission’ and for Mixmag he
mixed two massive cover mount CD’s in his own name. Forging an exciting,
new, tough sound combing tech-trance and hard dance elements the first,
‘BOSH’, was one of the most successful Mixmag CD’s to date and in 2003
clubbers demanded a follow-up so ‘Next Level BOSH!’ was born. In an
unprecedented time frame, Eddie has firmly established himself as one of the
most talked about and exciting DJ’s in the world.

Shapeshifters
Best known for their UK #1 single ‘Lola's Theme’ in July
2004, the track was originally released as an instrumental
promo in 2003, rose from the underground and caused an
unprecedented reaction not seen since Spiller’s
‘Groovejet’. Their second single released in March 2005,
titled ‘Back To Basics’ reached number 10 in the UK. The
third single ‘Incredible’ reached Number 12 and their
debut album ‘Sound Advice’ was released on 6th March 2006, peaking at 76.
Sound Advice was released in the United States on Ultra Records under the
Shape: UK name in September 2006. The fourth single, featuring Chic,
Sensitivity charted at number 40 on 30 July 2006.
The Shapeshifters returned with the single, ‘Pusher’, ahead of their eagerly
awaited second album 'Do Not Disturb', expected to be released in early 2008.

Who Made Who (Live)
You take a house DJ and make him play the drums, then
you add a Bowie-loving bassist who sings too, and then
finally you fill in an avant-garde jazz guitarist with a mean
moustache. These are the main ingredients in trio Who
Made Who. A mouth-watering stew that enjoys things a
bit stirred.
The essence is playful eclecticism. Traces of disco, funk,
punk, ambient-folk, 60’s psychadelia and all that. While the record itself is
fun, live they are incredible, one of the real finds in this years line up.
www.grooveattack.com

Diplo
After a brief stint at film school and a season out on the
shrimp boats, the need to escape from America for a
while led to some time in Japan, from where he sent the
beat doodles he had been working on to Big Dada in the
UK and was promptly signed. He returned to the US and
moved to Philly where he and another DJ, Low Budget,
began their now-legendary Hollertronix sessions. The
Hollertronix mix CD, ‘Never Scared’ followed and later in the year the lost
classic ‘Epistemology Suite’ EP became his first release for Big Dada. ‘Florida’
followed soon after, the debut album featured vocals from Martina Topley-
Bird, Vybz Cartel, PEACE, Pantera Os Danadinhos and Sandra Melody it
showed the breadth of Diplo’s imagination and the depth of his influences.
Since releasing ‘Florida’ Diplo hast toured with Prefuse 73, RJD2, Roots
Manuva and M.I.A, produced for Kano and M.I.A. and remixed artists including
Gwen Stefani, Le Tigre, DJ Shadow.
www.myspace.com/diplo

Robbie Rivera
Following early releases on Subliminal, Filtered and a host
of other key dance labels a few years back, Robbie Rivera
has since been inundated with offers and has worked
with, and had tracks released on labels that include
Defected, Serious, Azuli, Duty Free, Positiva, Ministry of
Sound, Credence, Echo, Virgin, Atlantic, Strictly Rhythm,
Multiply, Tommy Boy, Manifesto, Ministry Of Sound, Time,
Sony, Mute, Universal, Epic...
As well as remixing many International artists including Faithless, Felix Da
Housecat, Soulsearcher, Darryl Pandy, Sybil, Funky Green Dogs, RES, Moloko,
Victoria Beckham, Madonna, Puretone, and Brandy, Robbie constantly DJ’s
around the world including Ibiza, Barcelona, the UK, Montreal, Vancouver,
Greece, Portugal, Italy, NYC, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Chicago.
www.robbierivera.com

Aesop Rock
The eclectic rhyme-sayer who burst onto the radar with
his universally acclaimed ‘Definitive Jux’ debut album
‘Labor Days’ and then followed it up with the anthemic EP
‘Daylight’, returns to reclaim the truth and hand out
lyrical beat downs to those who stole the up-rock and
buffed the trains. Over four albums of futurized funk,
Aesop Rock has been blowing minds with detail-driven
narratives and dexterity defying word play. From the early records ‘Music For
Earth Worms’, ‘Appleseed’ and ‘Float’ to the masterful ‘Labor Days’, his
singular voice has filtered tales of Lower East Side city life through a highly
personal lens. And that voice has reached out and touched an enormous
amount of people.
www.aesoprock.net

Mark Knight
Former resident of Ministry of Sound resident based in
Maidstone spinning house and electro. Knight launched
his own label Toolroom Records in 2004, chiefly as a
venue for his own productions, which have received
support from Deep Dish, Pete Tong and Sander
Kleinenberg. He has remixed Narcotic Thrust, Soul Centrl
and Sydenham and Ferrer, the latter in collaboration with
Martjin ten Velden. Knight’s style both as a producer and DJ is generally
house music with dashes of progressive, electro and tribal.
www.myspace.com/markknight

Markus Shulz
Markus has been winning over fans with his dark,
brooding, melodic productions and DJ sets. He has
captured a vibe in trance that was previously only heard
in house music.
Dark, thick bass lines, tranquil music box melodies, with
frantic energetic percussion and epic strings, his
productions have been released throughout the world on
some of the most respected labels in the electronic dance music industry:
Electronic Elements, Armada, Anjunabeats, Lost Language, Yoshitoshi, Global
Underground, Renaissance and Bedrock just to name a few. Markus has had
the opportunity to work with artists like Jewel, Oceanlab, Gabriel & Dresden
presents Motorcycle, Karada, Telepopmusik, Fat Boy Slim, Miro, Book Of Love,
Depeche Mode, Everything But The Girl, Madonna, Blue Amazon, and PQM.
Harder, darker, Markus always delivers up a musically sensitive yet moody
monster of a mix.
ww.markusschulz.com/

Laidback Luke
Both as producer and DJ, Laidback Luke has all that it
takes to become an International star! Not only did he
produce ‘We Can Not Get Enough’, the highly successful
anthem to the infamous event Dance Valley, but he is also
fully capable of filling venues the length and breadth of
the country every time he plays. After the release of his
debut album ‘Electronic Satisfaction’ in 2002, Laidback
Luke worked more as a DJ than as a producer. He performed from America to
Japan and Ibiza, and was the highlight at a number of the summer's festivals
such as Sensation, Lovefields, Awakenings and Innercity. Realistically,
producing his own live mix album was only a matter of time.
www.laidbackluke.com/

Kid Koala
Kid Koala blurs the lines between turntablism and
performance art. Blending beats and bits, Koala passes
over slick samplers, choosing instead to combine gems
from thrift store record bins, old commercial cut-ups,
spoken word recordings, cartoons, and sound effects with
a clever sense of humor and a dead-on sense of rhythm.
Kid Koala began scratching in 1998, but the buzz really
started in 1995, when he independently released his now-legendary
‘Scratchcratchratchatch’ cassette/10-inch vinyl. Loaded with turntable
wizardry and Charlie Brown samples, ‘Scratchscratchscratch’ was snapped up
by hipsters of all stripes and is now impossible to find. In 1997, Kid Koala
appeared on the ‘’Return of the DJ Volume 2’ compilation, signed to Ninja
Tune, and released a 10-inch, ‘Scratch Happy Land’. In 2000, he followed up
with a long anticipated full-length, ‘Carpal Tunnel Syndrome’ (recorded with
only two turntables and a mixer...no sampler!). In addition to his solo work,
he also mans the decks for the groovacious Montreal band Bullfrog.

Elite Force
sHack's elite force project began back in 1996, debuting
on his own newly founded fused and bruised label with
the 'mainframe wrekka' ep, and following through to
become one of the most respected leading lights of the
breaks world with a series of peerless 12's and remixes
with 12"s such as 'Spirito', 'Bombin' the Subway' and
'Here Come the Flow/Krushyn'. Early remixes for the likes
of Red Cell, Grand Royal, Surreal Madrid and his other main alias 'Lunatic
Calm' (of which he was one half) confirmed his dancefloor credentials. In 2001
he put fused and bruised on the backburner to concentrate on production
work and began recording for tech-funk pioneers, Meat Katie's whole9yards.
Since then elite force has become the mainstay of the label and has
spearheaded their campaign for global domination with no fewer than 4
massive 12's, finding support from dancefloors and DJs across the globe
(Plump DJs to Digweed and all points in between)....
Elite Force have earned the reputation as one of the most creative and
effective remixers around, with major support from Plump DJs, Satoshi
Tomiie, Koma and Bones, Drummatic Twins, John Digweed and Terminalhead.

The Black Ghosts DJ’s
The Black Ghosts lament through their perverse,
personal pop music. Theirs is a peculiarly British noir,
where the divorcee next-door, dreams of nocturnal
visitations from predatory incubi and an awkward boy
genius tinkers with forbidden science in the garden
shed. Unmanned Casio keyboards left for dead in the
loft burst into requiems of their own composition,
attractive cousins are murdered for what they know, and
an unspeakable horror lurks in the depths of the spare room. You might be
surprised to hear the new album from Simian’s Simon Lord and The Wiseguys’
Theo Keating, recording together as The Black Ghosts, spun in this
melodramatic fashion. The whole Black Ghosts project combines moving
arrangements with uncomfortable subject matter.
Theo’s electronic orchestra stabs with an assassin’s grace, Simon implores the
source of his frustration that he “Will do whatever it takes to put a smile upon
your face” and laments that it’s only “If my hands were around your throat
would you tell me what I need to know.” So if you feel your world could do
with an undercurrent of intrigue - or your discotheque needs haunting - just
call The Black Ghosts.

James Holroyd
DJ James Holroyd a.k.a. Boggy James Holroyd, started
plying his trade back in 1991 in the heady days of the
original Back to Basics at Leeds' Music Factory. He was
introduced to the decks playing a mixture of funk, house,
disco and hip-hop, and by 1992 his unique style and
cheeky personality had secured him a job as resident. In
1993 he joined forces with the Jockey Slut Magazine team
to form a house and techno based club night called Bugged Out! and in 1997
this weekly night earned itself the Muzik Magazine Award for ‘Club of the
Year’. James is still resident at Bugged Out! which has now moved to Cream
in Liverpool and become a monthly night. Connections made in Manchester
had also lead to Boggy hooking up with the Chemical Brothers. Tom and Ed
were so impressed with Holroyd's DJ style that they invited him to tour with
them in England from 1995 and then America from 1997. In 1998 Basics
reopened its doors at The Mint Club in Leeds and James was once again
invited to spin as resident DJ alongside Ralph Lawson. After touring South
America with the Chemical Brothers on their Surrender Tour in 1999, they
personally requested James as their support artist for their Australian Tour
this year.
www.myspace.com/djjamesholroyd

DJ Yoda
Think hip-hop. Think The Muppets. Think scratching.
Think 80s pop. You can only be thinking about DJ Yoda.
DJ Yoda (Duncan Beiny) is from London, England, and is
probably the only guy out there playing the theme tune to
‘Cheers’ in hip-hop clubs. And you can find him in the club
most nights per week – Yoda has travelled as far as
Japan, USA, Canada, Sweden, Ireland and Australia to DJ
with the likes of De La Soul, Gang Starr, Goldie, Roni
Size, Pete Tong and the Scratch Perverts. As a key member of the ‘Fat Lace
Crew’, he also writes the DJ page for the UK's biggest hip-hop magazine - Hip
Hop Connection. As well as being a resident at top London hip-hop clubs
Spread Love, Step Up Front and The XFM All City Night, Yoda's DJ duties have
also included judging the last three year’s DMC DJ World Finals.
www.djyoda.co.uk

D.I.M
His love for electronic music was the driving force when
he started DJing, back in 1992, working freelance in
various events. The next step included radio show
productions and DJing, followed by a two year long
residency in ‘Brainstorm’ parties (1994-1996). Feeling
that the electro/techno scene in Thessaloniki needed more
drastic initiatives to evolve, DimDJ launched the ‘Dynamic
Output’ parties in 1997.
The next big step was the implementation of his vision for the Relax
Recordings label and parties, alongside with DJ PiCi (aka Decades/Poeta Negra
Records). These parties have managed to stimulate the crowd of the city by
presenting and establishing a totally new way of listening to and feeling the
electronic music. His sets cover a wide range of diverse techno styles, from
the deeper and minimal to the most exciting percussive and hard tribal tunes.
This blend, combined with pro technical skills and his love for the use of FX
always works the dancefloor at the best possible way.

The Silent Disco (Arena)
Go wild in silence! That's what it's all about at the Silent Disco.
The Silent Disco earned its name because an outsider walking in would see a
tent full of people dancing, yet hear no music, hence silent disco. Featuring a
2 channel headset system, expect the unexpected with performances by some
of the festivals headline acts on one channel and the crazy Dutch 433fm.com
DJ’s mixing up tracks from long-lost eras with current dance floor killers. In
other words: it’s a complete radio broadcast, but most certainly one where
nothing is fixed and everything is possible!
It’s a favourite at festivals such as Glastonbury, Reading, Leeds, Bennicassim,
Global Gathering, Edinburgh Fringe, and so many more. Experience the Future
silently for the very first time!
