"The Dark Knight could pass Titanic as the highest-grossing film in US history, said Paul Dergarabedian, president of Media By Numbers. The mother of all blockbusters, James Cameron's 1997 extravaganza made $US600,788,188 domestically, a record no other movie has come close to touching.
The Titanic record has sat in a lock box for 10 years. It's a tall order but if any film has a chance to surpass that number, it's got to be Dark Knight," he said. "The notion that it could beat Titanic is not all that far-fetched any more."

Oi don't diss Titanic that was a beautiful movie, great love story, i balled my eyes out when i saw it but then again i'm just one big sook, i cry everytime i see a Huggies commercial...

It is a very good movie all round. I'd go as far as saying the best comic book movie. Better than Spiderman 1 and 2 and X Men

Easily one of the best comic adaptations along side V For Vendetta (in my not so humble personal opinions that is). Go see it in Imax, it's just fucking nuts. But turn up early or risk seeing half of batman's face for 2.5 hours.
Heath was soooo good, an amazing talent wasted.

Do it, you will not regret. Some of the scenes shot from helicopters (i think?) of Hong Kong city were AMAZING on the IMAX screen. These were either shot using the IMAX suitable cameras or digitally manipulated later so that they were not cut off at the top and bottom like most of the other scenes but instead full the screen from top to bottom. You just get absolutely engulfed in it. Too bad i was sitting right at the side cus my fucking idiot mate didn't turn up early to save seats as promised. Should be better now though since it's been 2 weeks but don't take my word for it.

Were you in the middle? i saw the last harry potter movie in 3d at imax and was on the very end because it was packed and i vowed never to go again cause it was not good sitting on the side.

imax is hectic, i went there last year too see a documentary and i thought i was being punched in the face by the mammoth screen
anyway, batman is a heaps good movie, but with all of the movie pirates on the internet these days, compared to what it was like when titanic was released, it's unlikely that dark knight will beat titanic
