FUTURE ENTERTAINMENT, ANGEL MUSIC GROUP AND MINISTRY OF SOUND AUSTRALIA DELIVER A NOVEMBER KNOCK OUT WITH THE WORLD’S UNDISPUTED HEAVY WEIGHT OF DANCE MUSIC FESTIVALS!
Hot off the heels of the most successful Global Gathering in the UK
to date, Future Entertainment, the Angel Music Group and Ministry
Of Sound Australia announce the most dynamic and groundbreaking
joint venture the Australian music industry has seen in a
very long time; the launch of the Global Gathering Festivals across
the country this coming November.
Since its launch in 2001, Global Gathering has become the world’s
undisputed front runner of dance festivals. A massive 50,000
revellers congregate annually from all corners of the globe at the
renowned Long Marston Airfield in the last weekend in July, creating
the biggest dance and live music weekender of the European
summer. This year’s record attendance exceeded 55,000 and stood
tall as the strongest performer amidst the myriad of UK festivals
this summer.
Headliners Kanye West, Moby and Mark Ronson nailed their live
sets leaving the entire audience breathless, whilst the likes of Armin
Van Buuren, John Digwqeed, Roger Sanchez, Above and Beyond
and many other amazing superstar DJ’s rocked and rolled everyone
in attendance.
This is a landmark union between Australia’s largest festival promoter
and international touring agent, Australia’s most recognised dance
music brand and record label, and the UK’s most successful dance
festival promoters. Future Entertainment, The Angel Music Group
and Ministry of Sound Australia are respectively leaders in their
fields and collectively present what may well be the biggest venture
of its kind in Australia to date.
Over the next few week’s details of the very first Global Gathering
Festivals will be revealed. Make no mistake; this will be a milestone
for festival culture in Australia.
Global Gathering UK began life in July 2001 as a one-day electronic
music event for 25,000 people featuring a plethora of superstar
DJs. Since then it has become a two-day camping weekender for
over 55,000 people a day with line-ups that boast the very best
electronic and live music acts on the planet.
Global Gathering’s commitment to musical excellence has always
been apparent from their line-ups. In recent years the UK event
has enjoyed many amazing exclusives and defining performances.
In 2006, Daft Punk chose the Global Gathering for their first British
live performance in ten years and this year Kanye West picked
Global Gathering for his exclusive UK festival performance.
Global Gathering UK attracts over 20,000 people from overseas,
with the site littered with flags from all nationalities, from Australia
and New Zealand, to Brazil and Argentina. As its name suggest, it
has become a truly international event with Global Gathering hitting
the USA in 2006 and launching in Ukraine, Turkey and Malaysia in
2007.
This year Global Gathering is going even more Global with festivals
occurring in six countries over and above the UK in 2008. Each
international Global Gathering festival will be unique to its location,
special care is taken to mould the festival to the local market,
paying extra special care as always to delivering the best possible
talent line up and ensuring the highest production values possible
for each country. Global Gathering International events are a true
reflection of the original UK festival, taking the spirit and the
commitment to excellence giving the Global audiences an experience
to remember.
