Cosmic Destination - By Nezz

"Look up into the sky. Its filled with a continuous rainbow of lasers and intelligent lighting. Suddenly you can't move, a trance has been put over you. A moment takes place, time, space and 40,000 watts collide with particles of adrenalin"
Enters Cosmic Destination, the first event organised by the Hitek crew who came together in an attempt to create the ultimate clubbing experience across the trance and happy hard genres. The light set up achieved the perfect backdrop in both the main room and second room, with an array of blues, pinks, reds, yellows, greens and purples decorating the walls and dancefloor. The sound system was equally impressive, providing a loud and clear sound the whole night through.
Now. It goes without saying the talent possessed by the likes of Nik Fish, Amber Savage, Matrix, Yoshi, Archie, Suae, Weaver and Tom E. These are no strangers to us, and as usual they each provided us with the very sets we love them for. Tonight, however, it was the little guys the new faces and the familiar but small time Djs “ who were the stars and who were up there with Sydney's finest, bringing the crowd to complete euphoria as promised.
The main room, with a set up of four turntables, opened with Captain Kirk and Patrik, blasting out a powerful and driving uplifting set (which was my favourite set of the night). I would personally like to say that Captain Kirk, for a house Dj, played some quality trance alongside Patrik, and I hope this was not his first and last performance in the trance scene.
Up and coming hard trance duo, Arbor and Tempa, showed the crowd yet again why they have gained our respect as trance Djs over the past few months, with a peaktime banging hard trance set that filled the floor from front to back. Towards the end of the night, Sacotty G and Nebula calmed the crowd down with a breathtaking uplifting set, including tracks like Rank 1's Symsonic (It's up to you).
We were also privileged to be surprised with the debut track (wait for it) ˜Cosmic Destination produced by our very own Arbor, Tempa and Shadower. The track had it all energy, a hard base and a wicked melody. The crowd reacted in delight and stomped from beginning to end of the track, played by Shadower at the beginning of his and Tom Es set.
Whilst the main room was playing an ample amount of trance and hardstyle, the second room was not shy of great music. Dutch, Flip and Forenzic started of the night also with driving sets, filling the floor in time to hand it over to the sounds of happy hard. Rhyno and Josh Van Aalst were the first of the genre, with a Breeze and Styles like set which had the crowd singing at the top of their lungs with their hands in the air, and had them wanting more. As the night progressed, indeed they got more as the Happy Hard was continuously delivered set by set, with a bit of hardcore towards the end. If the music wasnt enough, Cosmics own MCs Whiskey and Rek, were quick on the mic to keep the crowd jumping.
It is rare that an event, upon its introduction to the dance scene, fails. Cosmic Destination, however, was not only successful just like any other event, but it exceeded any expectations that the Hitek crew, Djs or clubbers could have had. The crowd and the Djs came together to create a symbiotic relationship, that was captured in the music and the dancing, resulting in a dynamic and memorable first time event.
