Rainbow is proud to present acts for 2009 !! Bring it on !!

Bluetech (Native State, USA)
A classically trained pianist and master of the art of software production. Bluetech's love of the melodic and exquisite sense of sound design makes him one of the most ingenious producers today. Not content to stay at home, Bluetech has toured extensively and performed in Japan, UK, Germany, Spain, Italy, Croatia, France, Denmark, Mexico, United States, and Canada.

Bluetech has released two albums on Aleph Zero Records, an internationally acclaimed chill label run by recording artist Shulman, and is currently working on a third for release in 2008.

Perfect Stranger (Iboga, Israel)
Perfect Stranger is Yuli Fershtat, born 1970 also well known under the guise of BLT.

Around mid 2004, after having a long and fruitful collaboration with the successful Danish progressive export, Iboga records, the decision was made to start a new progressive project under Iboga's guidance and promotion. The project "Perfect Stranger" presents a progressive dance music approach, highly psychedelic, tribal, atmospheric and challenging.

Whether playing live or as a DJ his sets are of a very hypnotic nature, and when caught at the beginning you won't leave the dance floor.

Talpa (Up-Records / MMR, Serbia)
Goran Juric was born in 1982 in Subotica, Serbia and at the age of 4, was already showing a keen interest in music, pestering his parents to learn the piano.

Talpa’s style varies from track to track, it’s melodic and funky, wrapped in a psychedelic carnival covering. His style is unique with, you always know when you’re hearing a Talpa composition yet you can be assured each of his tracks tells a different story.

After a full 3 years, his new album, “When the Somberness Becomes a Game” is awaiting release by Sundance Records this spring and he also has several tracks ready to be released on compilations by such Aussie labels as UP Records, MMR, and Adapted records, with a third album to be released by UP & MMR in 2009.

Deadbeat (Wagon Repair, Canada)
Deadbeat is one Scott Monteith, a long time Montrealer and recent Berlin ex-pat who has been releasing his own special blend of dub laden, minimal electronics since 2000, for labels such as Cynosure, Scape, and Wagon Repair to name but a few. His work has been met with consistent critical acclaim from the industry's leading publications and websites, and drawn regular performance invitations for some of the world's most respected festivals, including Barcelona's Sonar, Berlin's Transmediale, and Montreal's own Mutek.

Mista Savona
Mista Savona is a Melbourne based producer/engineer /songwriter and keyboardist specialising in cutting edge new sounds and heavy vintage roots music. Hip-Hop, Dancehall, Roots Reggae and Heavyweight Dub.

As well as performing as a solo artist, Mista Savona has brought together an incredible 10-12 piece band, including a horn section, African dancers and Melbourne vocalist Vida Sunshyne (whose credits include work with Nitin Sawhney and Lionel Richie). The shows are by far one of the toughest and most exciting presentations of authentic, raw roots reggae and dancehall music in Australia. Featuring members of Diafrix, The Cruel Sea, Illzilla, Tumburumba, Natty Sistren and more, these guys have been blazing up venues and festivals around the country!

http://www.myspace.com/mistasavona

OKA (Soultree United)
Deeply rooted in their laid back coastal lifestyle, their unique world class sound has earned Australian group OKA a reputation as a ‘ stand out ’ live act. With their energetic and musically diverse performances, their huge underground following has been attributed to their fusion of eclectic world sounds: roots, dub, reggae, jazz and organic electronica.

With numerous critically acclaimed performances, like the 2007 Montreal Jazz festival (Canada), the last three years at Woodford Folk festival and the Dreaming Festival (Australia), their "must see" live shows reveal their epic sound, and are winning them audiences all around the globe.

Bring you USB Stick

As a part of the Hub there will also be a media and resource centre where you can bring along your USB stick and Hard Drive to download documentaries, e-books and articles from various topics. Topics will range from sustainable design, environmental issues, healing to sacred plants, tribal living and more.

There is power in discussion, sharing of information and the networking of a community. So come along to exchange information, share your own wisdom and learn from our Elders who will help to ground and facilitate the space. Elders from all walks of life will take turns to anchor the energy, teach, heal and provide spiritual and pragmatic advice as needed.
The Hub is to be a meeting of the minds, bodies and souls in a safe place designed to harness the wisdom, passion and knowledge of our community.

Directions and Transport
How to get to Beaufort in Western Victoria.

FROM MELBOURNE

Take the Western Highway [M8] past Ballarat and continue on till you reach Beaufort [about 20 minutes past Ballarat]. This is your last stop for food, drinks, petrol, etc so stock up. Just as you enter the town turn left at the traffic lights (Lawrence St, there is a supermarket on this corner). Follow this road (becomes Skipton Road) for about 6km headed for Skipton. Watch for signs and slow down to make a right turn. Drive carefully down this dirt road till you reach the checkpoint. All turns will be clearly marked. Total travel time under 2 hours from Melbourne. The checkpoint will be operating from midday Thursday till Monday. Remember there is no access to the site until midday Thursday, so do not turn up earlier than this.
FROM SYDNEY

Drive to Melbourne. Get onto Western Highway (via Western Ring Road) heading for Ballarat. Follow instructions as from Melbourne.
FROM ADELAIDE

Take the freeway heading for Melbourne. Pass through Arrarat. About ½ hour after Arrarat you will be approaching Beaufort. Look for the traffic lights at Lawrence St just after the main strip of shops, turn right here and follow instructions as from Melbourne above.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

V-line runs trains to Beaufort each day. The trains below are direct and will be serviced by the Rainbow Shuttle Bus for transport out to the festival site and back to the station. There are other services available not listed here, however transport to and from Beaufort Station and the festival site will need to be organised by you.
