PACHA hits up HOME nightclub once again to bring you the ultimate NYE experience featuring Eric Morillo, Carl Kennedy, the devilishly sexy (see pictures below) Emily Scott as well as a host of local DJ's.

ERICK MORILLO
==========
There is very little, in the world of entertainment, that the talented Erick Morillo has not turned his hand to. He is a platinum selling artist and has topped the charts worldwide as the producer behind Reel 2 Reel’s hit “I Like To Move It”. He has been responsible for a bewildering array of dance-floor tracks, under pseudonyms that include Minister De La Funk, The Dronez (a project alongside Harry ‘Choo Choo’ Romero and Jose Nunez, which won the trio the “Remixer of the Year” Award in 2001), RAW, Smooth Touch, RBM, Deep Soul, Club Ultimate and Li’l Mo Ying Yang amongst others

He has remixed everyone from Whitney Houston to Basement Jaxx, from the Sneaker Pimps to Macy Gray. He runs the legendary Subliminal Records empire and has collaborated with the likes of Puff Daddy, Boy George and the Audio Bullys.

As a high profile DJ, Erick is currently one of the most in-demand and instantly recognisable in the world. From the climb-the-walls success of his weekly ‘Sessions’ parties in New York, to hosting events like the annual road-blocking Subliminal Sessions parties in Miami for the Winter Music Conference, to his coveted residency at Ministry of Sound (one of the few US DJs to ever hold one) and of course his now legendary Subliminal Sessions parties at Pacha, Ibiza. His prolific DJing schedule has seen him crisscrossing the globe playing up to a whopping 30 gigs a month, along the way scooping up endless awards such as “Best International DJ 2002” and “Best House DJ 1999 / 2001”.

He has also become a familiar television personality through his appearances on MTV UK and as host of MTV Ibiza two years in a row whilst starring in a seven part series for the major UK TV station, Channel 4, which followed him around the world to the biggest parties and was aired to millions of viewers.

Raised in Colombia, then New Jersey, Erick was weaned on a musical diet of Latin rhythms, reggae and hip hop. He started DJing at the age of 11 and after securing himself DJ sets at several local gigs decided to take a studio engineering course at the local Centre of Media Arts.

He was soon inducted into the house fraternity through his friend Marc Anthony (the Salsa King), whilst he was working with the now legendary Louie Vega and Kenny “Dope” Gonzalez on “Ride On The Rhythm”. “Louie’s kinda watched out for me since the beginning, he never really told me how I should do things, he’s just always been supportive”.

After somehow scraping together enough equipment to build his own studio, the young Morillo tentatively started approaching labels such as Nervous and Strictly Rhythm with his fledgling productions. This eventually paid off when Strictly picked up on a track called “The New Anthem”, under the moniker Reel 2 Reel. Erick quickly followed this release with the classic “I Like To Move It”, which went platinum in Holland, gold in the UK, Germany, France and Belgium and opened the doors for Erick’s first taste of touring in Europe.

Flush with success but determined to keep his head and music firmly in the underground (“It’s where I come from, where I always go back to”) he notched up a pair of Billboard #1’s with Smooth Touch’s “In My House” and his sublime collaboration with buddy Louie Vega, Li’l Mo’Ying Yang’s “Reach”.

In 1997, after spending almost a year of meticulously planning everything from logos to packaging, Morillo took it that one step further and launched Subliminal Records with his production partners Harry Romero and Jose Nunez. Guided by Morillo’s ear and studio presence, and bolstered by his equally able team mates, the Subliminal brand has gone on to become synonymous with a funky, soulful sound that’s as underground as it is party-ready. “I wanted people to be able to go into a store, buy a Subliminal track and know that they’ve got a quality record.”

In 2004 Erick released his first artist album worldwide, entitled “My World” it featured heavyweight collaborations from the likes of Puff Daddy, DJ Rap, Audio Bullys, Terra Deva and even a reunion with the Mad Stuntman. The first single taken from the album was “Break Down The Doors” featuring the Audio Bullys and with its success came Erick’s debut music video, featuring himself, the Audio Bullys and a cameo by supermodel Naomi Campbell.

2007 has been the year in which Subliminal Sessions 11 has been released marking the 10th anniversary of the now world renowned, cutting edge label - Subliminal Records. With over 100 releases under its belt, ranging from full-on radio smashes like Who Da Funk’s ‘Shiny Disco Balls’ to underground classics like Ministers de la Funk’s ‘Believe’ to the indispensable Subliminal Sessions compilations, the label’s catalogue has truly become an industry heavyweight. Yet this is not all, as sitting alongside this are the label’s imprints Sondos, Subliminal Soul, Bambossa and SUBUSA which cater for everything from tough, tribal beats to rock-house cocktails.

2007’s Ten Years of Subliminal has been celebrated with a new weekly party which ran for ten weeks over the summer at Le Palais in Cannes. Alongside this was Erick’s Wednesday night Subliminal Sessions party at Pacha Ibiza, his all-night sets at Ministry of Sound in London, Pacha in Barcelona and Fabrik in Madrid and his parties at Pacha NYC where Erick is not only resident but also one of the club’s share-holders.

Add to this already hectic schedule dates that see him playing gigs in Rotterdam, Birmingham and Las Vegas in a single weekend, touring Australia, hosting a tent at Creamfields UK, headlining the Ultra Music Festival at The Winter Music Conference, deputising for Pete Tong on his Friday Night show on BBC Radio 1, playing five festivals including Global Gathering both in the UK and in the Ukraine and to top it all, finding yourself a favorite of a certain pair of princes and playing at the Concert for Diana after-party at London’s Wembley Arena. And this is only what he's done so far.

The end of the year will see Erick tour Colombia and Brazil, play dates across the USA, head over to Dubai and headlining a huge warehouse rave somewhere under the streets of Manchester. 2008 will be welcomed in his trademark workaholic style; playing not one, but two different clubs, in two different countries on New Years Eve; Sensation in Dussledorf followed by Outland in Rotterdam.

And 2008? Well it looks set to be another huge year for Erick. Already confirmed to headline some of the world’s best festivals and with his summer residencies firmly locked down it’s sure to be an action packed, glamorous, crazy, party adventure….with a few surprises.

Emily Scott
=======
After working with the UK’s largest DJ touring agency “Ultra” (home to Benny Benassi, Studio B and Sonique), Emily can’t wait to get dance floors rocking on her home turf. Back from Eruope in November for three months - Australia’s very own international superstar is
ready to see her fans and create some much anticipated hype!

Emily has been titled FHM Magazine's 01 Sexiest Australian Woman 2007 and 05th sexiest woman in the world. FHM UK just recently announced her as 09th sexiest woman in the world for 2007.

Originally Emily lived Sydney until her modeling career took off and... In only 18 months of modeling Emily has been on 23 COVERS and featured in 70 magazines world wide, the face of Lipton Ice Tea, has appeared on Love Island,
Cirque de Celebrite & Love Shack...and this is only the beginning!

Emily, now based in London, is a Dj and currently tours Europe, Australia, the US and Asia playing House and lectro sounds in the World's best clubs. With over 27,000 myspace friends, Australia’s current sexiest woman as oted by the public is sure to get your club racing.

Carl Kennedy
========
In October 2003 when Pete Tong, of BBC’s Radio 1, proclaimed Carl Kennedy ‘one the world’s best undiscovered DJs,’ he
clearly was able to see what vast numbers of club goers were soon to discover; that Carl was destined to become the a big name in dance music.

Born in Birmingham, England, Kennedy made the bold move to New York when he was 20 with his eyes set on the bright lights of big city life. No one could have imagined, least of all him, the extent of excitement life had installed for him.

If one man was responsible for inspiring Kennedy to take the DJing path, then it would be dance music icon Roger Sanchez, when he played a set at Ibiza’s Privilege (the largest club in the world) in front of 10 000 people in 1997. Carl was there to witness the mayhem and it will forever be etched in his memory. As if fulfilling some kind of pre-determined destiny, Carl was
to play the famous club 5 years on and smash it up in the same devastating fashion that his hero, the blazing ‘S Man’ did all those years prior.

In 1998 Carl scored his first professional break, becoming the resident DJ for a small house party called GBH which later went on to become one of New York’s most prominent and longest running Friday night events. During his time at GBH, Carl entertained more than a quarter of a million people and, on his own terms, did his bit to revitalize New York’s house music scene, all the while building his profile and reputation as a major player on the DJ circuit.

2000 saw Carl move with GBH to Centro-fly (voted America’s no.1 club in 2001/2002), which saw him perform alongside heavyweights like The Chemical Brothers, Roger Sanchez, Dimitri from Paris, Seb Fontaine, and Erick Morillo. Then in 2003, when Pete Tong hosted his “Essential Selection” show live from Centro-fly, people on both sides of the Atlantic had a chance
to hear Carl at work, as he pieced together his own blend of sexy beats and soul-satisfying sonics. Ironically, after that performance, his popularity began spreading in his native England, and it has been growing steadily ever since.

A man’s whose sound holds an undeniable far-reaching appeal, Carl tours regularly throughout every continent across the globe and is a firm favourite at Ibiza’s famous Pacha and Space Terrace. He’s also performed at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami and the Budapest Love Parade in Hungary, where eight hundred thousand music mad people danced up a frenzy to Kennedy’s white-hot DJ set.

It’s Australia though, where the DJ-producer calls his second home. After mixing the critically-acclaimed Onelove vol.2 compilation CD in 2005 with local gun Grant Smillie of TV Rock fame, Kennedy has become a firm local favourite. The man now spends up to six months a year in his adopted country. Having snared a residency at clubbing institution One Love both in Sydney and Melbourne, he also tours the country stopping in at regional towns and the other major cities along the way.
Kennedy might be a devastating vinyl stroker in his own right, having been nominated as ‘Best Breakthrough DJ’ at 2004’s

Dance Star Awards in Miami, but his devastating skills don’t end when he exits a nightclub. His stunning 2004 cut ‘The Love you Bring Me’ still remains the highest ever selling single on Roger Sanchez’s prestigious Stealth imprint, having been an Essential New Tune on the UK’s Radio 1, and ‘Tune of the Month’ in Tong’s Essential feature in Mixmag. Last year’s ‘Right Before My Eyes’ offering on Toolroom was also recently picked up by Ministry of Sound’s behemoth off-shoot Data Records.
At present, Kennedy’s latest release ‘Don’t Give up’ (out on respected underground imprint CR2) is burning devastating holes in dancefloors around the world.
Always planting new seeds for future prosperity, Kennedy has also stretched his dance industry wings out to start up two new record labels. His solo venture being the Kings of New York imprint, whilst Wasted Youth Music was born together with rising Australian house star Dirty South, with the focus based around the philosophy of ‘labels run by artists for artists’.

A man whose passion for house music is only rivaled by the hoards of clubbers who flock to catch his exquisite DJ sets, the spinner maintains a distinctive style all his own incorporating sounds across electro, tribal, soul and funk. Carl Kennedy is a man with a sixth-sense for what makes dancefloors move and possesses an uncanny ability to hit the sonic sweet spot time and time again. Indeed, it would seem that music aficionados across the globe are too, discovering his innovative style and
not wanting to let go.
