Over the past decade Earthdance, the global festival for peace, has become renowned around the world as a celebration of cultural diversity, music and the arts. Since launching in Sydney in 2004 the popularity of Earthdance has increased rapidly, with a turnout of 40,000 people making last year the biggest Sydney Earthdance yet. This year Earthdance falls on Saturday 13 September, where the entire city is invited to enjoy the broad array of festivities - spanning music and drama to interactive workshops and markets and much more - at the new location of Prince Alfred Park.
The Earthdance festival takes place simultaneously in over 200 locations in 50 countries around the world in support of global peace and humanitarian aims. Earthdance Sydney maintains a long tradition of mixing genres and blurring boundaries across both local and global spheres. To ensure the standard of the festival is maintained and we can continue to present art and culture of the highest calibre we need the public to support the official launch of Earthdance 2008, with all funds raised from the night put towards the upcoming festival and ensuring Earthdance 2008 is the best yet.
