Producer info required.

Hey all,

Just wanting some info... I have layed down the Vocals for a Track that i would like to get produced, as i have no experience in Producing music, The track is a 90's classic that went to Number 1 in the aria charts. so the info im after is what are the financial costs and legal requirments on my end and also contacting a dance music producer...

any help greatly appreciated.

Hi Mark,

Generally you'll want to speak to a producer that produces the kind of track you like i.e. Trance, pop e.t.c.

I'll list a couple of people who produce on the site, at a professional/semi-professional level, and their styles below. They will probably read this but if not private message them:

By 90's classic I take it that you have sampled or remixed?? If so then legitametly you need permission from the PUBLISHERS of the music. The Publisher CAN control this right more than the artist unless the artist is SUPER BRILLIANT & has retained their publishing rights, then you need to get permission from the artist. You need permissions to use the music (anything over 8notes I believe). You will then need to set up royalty payments (which are only incurred on money paid to you- I think).
Australian Performing Rights Association - APRA can help with this. look them up online.
A number 1 is harder/more expensive than a lesser known song- hence why the BIG producers normaly do the CLASSICS & the unknowns do the one-hit wonders.
